No-Shave November: Cancer and Cannabis

no shave November: cannabis and cancer

No-Shave November is a month-long journey to raise awareness for cancer and raise funds for cancer research. As the name would suggest, those that take part in No-Shave November agree to forego shaving, trimming, or otherwise grooming their facial hair for the whole month.

After the month ends, you can donate the money that you would typically spend on razors or other grooming supplies directly toward cancer awareness and research. The official organization takes a special interest in education on cancer prevention, which is the most straightforward way to save lives.

Heally and No-Shave November

We at Heally support No-Shave November in fighting cancer. Our mission is to spread awareness and solutions for disease, ailments, and symptom management.

Cannabis is one holistic and natural remedy that research shows could help alleviate cancer symptoms. Here are a few ways cannabis can help.

Cancer and Cannabis

Cannabis can be an effective way to alleviate symptoms that come from cancer or its associated chemotherapy treatments, which can be quite taxing.

It can help cancer patients with the management of several symptoms:

  • Nausea – Cannabis has been shown to reduce nausea and increase appetite. Many cancer patients going through chemotherapy struggle to eat, and when they do, they may have problems keeping food down.
  • Pain Relief – One of the most common reasons why cancer patients utilize cannabis is pain relief. Cannabis has been shown to increase the effectiveness of opioids when taken together and acts as an effective pain relief agent on its own. The primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, THC, has had synthetic versions approved for pain and nausea relief for decades.
  • Anxiety – Anxiety is very common among cancer patients. However, low-dose cannabis has been shown to reduce anxiety and promote feelings of well-being.

Products to Provide Relief

At Heally, we offer a number of products that help our patients who suffer from cancer to reduce the negative symptoms of their condition and get through treatment.

Cannabis FlowerGrape Jelly Flower

Grape Jelly is a very potent hybrid strain. Create this by crossing OG Glue with Sweet Purple D. It provides a relaxing, sleepy effect, so definitely save it for bedtime. They’re the perfect strain for helping you fall asleep and stay asleep.

Contribute to Cancer Research

You can donate directly on the No-Shave November fundraising page. Last year, participants were able to raise more than $1.75 million that benefited a variety of cancer awareness and research programs and nonprofits.

Further, you contribute just by participating and sharing your No-Shave November journey. Every conversation that you have about your beard or social media post that you make furthers the cause and gets the “groomless for a good cause” month in front of more people.
