Medical marijuana became legalized in Connecticut in 2012 when  Governor Dannel Molloy signed the Marijuana Palliative Use Act. Though, as of July 2021, recreational cannabis was legalized, and the sale of recreational marijuana should begin by the end of 2022. In Connecticut, there are three simple things you must do to obtain your medical marijuana card. First, to be eligible, you must be diagnosed with a medical condition that will benefit from medical marijuana treatment. Second, you must obtain a written certification recommendation from a registered Connecticut physician. Lastly, you must complete a medical marijuana application with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. There is a $100 application fee.
